The Time to Cut The Cord Has Arrived!

High cable prices and exorbitant satellite rates have finally crossed the line into the realm of the ridiculous. Yet, many of us continue to pay these costs because television service, and "having something on to watch" has become a near necessity in today's world. I recently joined the ranks of the Cord-Cutters - a quickly growing segment of society that has shunned the cable and satellite companies and has instead opted to stream content wirelessly via the internet. I couldn't be more happy with the choice, and I believe that others would opt for this change if they knew how easy and effective it is! This site is dedicated to providing that information, along with links to necessary equipment and content sites, so that we can once and for all remove the confusion for those who want to take this step. Top 10 Shows on Netflix!



  1. Breaking Bad
    • In a word, AWESOME!  Love this show - and it's incredibly cool to just watch all the episodes consecutively rather than waiting a week, or months between seasons, to watch them all.  Do yourself a favor and give this one a chance - you won't be sorry.
  2. The Walking Dead
    • Another great show that will keep you on the (very) edge of your seat!  Really cool zombie-apocalypse fare, but far more intelligent than some of the other examples. Incredibly well-produced and acted.  Give it a watch!
  3. Arrested Development
    • Hilarious. Resurrected from the dead by Netflix and now airing new episodes.  If you're looking for witty, cerebral humor, it doesn't get much better.
  4. Lost
    • Great, engrossing series that will keep you clicking through episodes until the wee hours of the morning.
  5. Sons of Anarchy
    • Not really my style but lots of folks love it.
  6. The Office
    • It's "The Office".  'Nuff said.
  7. Prison Break
    • Another series that epitomizes what's so cool about watching on Netflix.  You'll be running through episodes into the late night because you can't wait to see what happens next.  One of my favorites.
  8. Psych
    • Funny, witty, and modern are adjectives that come to mind.  Love Psych - start watching and you'll become a fan, too.
  9. 30 Rock
    • Definitely good for a few laughs.  :)
  10. Parks and Recreation
    • Another that's not really my style, but I hear folks raving about it.  Give it a whirl.

    Why do so many people rely on netflix, amazon, hulu to get their favorite programs? Most can be watched on the networks' website, including cable station like USA, SYFY, History, etc. and major networks: ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox. These programs are usually available 1 night after normal airing.

    Then with a program like Playon and Playlater, you can record them and watch them later and skip commercials, if you wish.
